This Etna DOC captures the distinctive personality of Sicily terroir. At 13.5% alcohol, it presents a well-balanced and harmonious profile. Crafted from Nerello Mascalese 90%, Nerello Cappuccio 10%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards 50 years old bred on soils composed of volcanic sand and ash made rich by small percentages of calcareous clay. Vinification: alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel truncated conical tanks at controlled temperature, followed by maceration on the skins for 10-12 days, ending with spot malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged 12 months partly in 700 and 500 litre French oak tonneaux and partly in stainless steel, finishing with 6 months in the bottle. A wine capturing Sicily's sun-soaked character and ancient viticultural roots.
Sicilian producers blend indigenous grapes with international varieties, reflecting the island's rich cultural mix.
