This Primitivo di Manduria DOC captures the distinctive personality of Puglia terroir. With 14.5% alcohol content, it offers a full-bodied and robust structure. Crafted from Primitivo 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. It displays rich color intensity with complex aromas and a persistent finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards vines rooted on red soils, full of limestone and iron oxides. Vinification: manual harvesting of slightly overripe grapes; destemming-crushing, pre-fermentation maceration at 8°C for 24-48 hours. Thermo-controlled maceration and alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts for about 10 days at 24-26°C. Final racking with soft presses. The wine is aged 18 months in barrels of fine French and American oak. A wine capturing the rustic charm of Puglia's ancient vineyards.
The region's Mediterranean climate favours bold reds from Primitivo and Negroamaro.
