A fine example of Basilicata winemaking, this Aglianico del Vulture DOC reflects generations of local expertise. Its 13% alcohol content supports a rounded, well-integrated style. Crafted from Aglianico 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. It displays rich color intensity with complex aromas and a persistent finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards from the Vulture area from young 6-8 year old vines trained with the Guyot system. Vinification: fermentation in steel tanks and maceration on the skins for 12-15 days. Malolactic fermentation in steel and in Slavonian oak barrels. The wine is aged 12 months in Slavonian oak vats for 50% of the mass. A wine showing the structured intensity typical of Basilicata's Aglianico-based reds.
Basilicata's volcanic Mount Vulture soils give its wines a distinctive mineral backbone.
