A fine example of Campania winemaking, this Irpinia DOC reflects generations of local expertise. With 14% alcohol content, it offers a full-bodied and robust structure. Crafted from Aglianico 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards vines 20 years old on calcareous clay soil at 450-550 meters altitude. Vinification: destemming, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration for about 20 days without temperature control, final soft pressing. No clarification or filtration or addition of sulfites. The wine is aged 12 months in barrels of fifth or sixth passage. A wine reflecting Campania's ancient viticultural roots stretching back to Roman times.
