Italy makes wine in every one of its twenty regions, from the Alpine valleys of Alto Adige and Valle d'Aosta to the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. Each region has its own native grapes and its own DOCG, DOC and IGT denominations.
The best known are Piedmont (Barolo, Barbaresco), Tuscany (Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino) and Veneto (Prosecco, Amarone), but Sicily, Campania, Friuli and Alto Adige are just as rewarding.
Below are the 21 regions in our catalog. Each region page lists its wineries and wines, and links to our guide to the region where there is one.
