A fine example of Campania winemaking, this Falerno del Massico DOC reflects generations of local expertise. With 14% alcohol content, it offers a full-bodied and robust structure. Crafted from Aglianico 80%, Piedirosso 20%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards from San Castrese estate on volcanic soil with good amount of phosphorus and potassium. At 140 metres of altitude with Guyot system. Vinification: alcoholic fermentation with frequent repassing and delestages with maceration on the skins for 20/25 days. Complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged 12 months in wood barrels, 50% in traditional oak barrels and 50% in Allier barrique. A wine showing the volcanic and mineral character typical of Campania's soils.
Campania's viticultural roots stretch back to ancient Roman times, among the oldest in Italy.
