Hailing from Sicily, this wine offers an authentic taste of the local terroir. Its modest 11.5% alcohol content favours freshness and drinkability. Crafted from Zibibbo 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. It presents bright acidity with fresh mineral notes and excellent varietal expression. The fruit is sourced from vineyards over 60 years old sapling vines from Contrada Cufurà, in Pantelleria Island, at 350 m above sea level in a hilly volcanic soil. Using only copper and sulfur, without fertilizers and herbicides. Late harvest in october. Vinification: destemming, soft pressing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration on the skins in old oak barrels for about 10 days, with malolcatic fermentation. A small part of the must is vinified on the skins in terracotta jars for about 5 days. Without filtrations. The wine is aged 10 months on the skins in French oak barrels. A wine capturing Sicily's sun-soaked character and ancient viticultural roots.
Volcanic soils around Mount Etna impart a distinctive mineral character found across many Sicilian wines.
