A fine example of Lombardy winemaking, this Oltrepò Pavese DOC reflects generations of local expertise. Its 15.5% alcohol content underpins a rich, muscular structure. Crafted from Barbera 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards single vineyard "Campo del Marrone" in the municipality of Canneto Pavese at an altitude of 200 meters on sandy ground facing north-east, with a gradient of 40%. Vinification: soft pressing and maceration of the marc with alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature in oak vats and cement tanks, malolactic fermentation at the transfer to the aging barrels. The wine is aged 10 months in oak barrels of different capacities. A wine reflecting the alpine influence found across Lombardy's varied terroir.
Lombardy is best known for Franciacorta, Italy's finest sparkling wine appellation, alongside the alpine reds of Valtellina.
