A fine example of Valle d'Aosta winemaking, this Valle d'Aosta DOC reflects generations of local expertise. At 13% alcohol, it presents a well-balanced and harmonious profile. Crafted from Petit Rouge, Fumin, Cornalin and other local grapes, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards from the municipality of Quart and Saint-Christophe on sandy loam soils with a slope of 50-70%. Vinification: 50% de-stemmed and 50% whole cluster grapes, maceration on skins for 10-12 days and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine is aged 15-18 months in barrique and 12 months in bottle. A wine showing the alpine purity typical of this small mountain region.
Valle d'Aosta, Italy's smallest wine region, grows vines at some of the country's highest altitudes.
