This prestigious Valtellina Superiore DOCG represents the pinnacle of Italian winemaking excellence. With 14.5% alcohol content, it offers a full-bodied and robust structure. Crafted from Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) 100% , this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in a sandy and silty soil from Montagna in Valtellina, at 570 metres above sea level faced to South. Vinification: pressing, soft destemming, alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks with maceration on the skins for 15 days and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. The wine is aged 12 months in barriques and at least 10 in bottle. A wine true to the meticulous Lombard approach to winemaking.
Lombardy is best known for Franciacorta, Italy's finest sparkling wine appellation, alongside the alpine reds of Valtellina.
