A fine example of Sicily winemaking, this Etna DOC reflects generations of local expertise. At 14% alcohol, it delivers real concentration and power on the palate. Crafted from Nerello Mascalese with small percentages of Nerello Cappuccio, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. It displays rich color intensity with complex aromas and a persistent finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in the old vineyard Contrada San Lorenzo, between 750 and 780 m. slm. Vinification: maceration on the skins for 13 days, then fermentation in stainless steel. The wine is aged 20 months in barrique, then 6 months in bottle. A wine showing the island's unique volcanic terroir and Mediterranean influence.
Volcanic soils around Mount Etna impart a distinctive mineral character found across many Sicilian wines.
