A fine example of Alto Adige winemaking, this Alto Adige/Sudtirol DOC reflects generations of local expertise. With 13.5% alcohol, it strikes a confident balance between body and freshness. Crafted from Lagrein 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in calcareous, clayey and sandy soils, faced to South-East and South-West. Vinification: maceration on the skins for 10 days, slow alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation in big French and Slavonian oak barels. The wine is aged some months in big oak barrels. A wine capturing the crystalline character of Alto Adige's high-altitude vineyards.
Alto Adige combines Italian and Austrian winemaking traditions in Italy's northernmost wine region.
