A fine example of Alto Adige winemaking, this Alto Adige/Sudtirol DOC reflects generations of local expertise. At 13.5% alcohol, it presents a well-balanced and harmonious profile. Crafted from Merlot 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in calcareous soils between 200 and 400 metres above sea level. Vinification: maceration on the skins for 10 days, slow alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation in big French and Slavonian oak barrels. The wine is aged some months in big oak barrels. A wine reflecting the region's cool mountain climate and precise winemaking.
Alto Adige combines Italian and Austrian winemaking traditions in Italy's northernmost wine region.
