A fine example of Sicily winemaking, this Etna DOC reflects generations of local expertise. Its 13% alcohol content supports a rounded, well-integrated style. Crafted from Nerello Mascalese 100% , this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards vines over 40 years old in Calderara Sottana stony vineyards, 610 meters above sea level. Vinification: spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, maceration for 60 days. The wine is aged 18 months in fiberglass tanks of about 2000 liters, 18 months then in bottle. A wine capturing Sicily's sun-soaked character and ancient viticultural roots.
Volcanic soils around Mount Etna impart a distinctive mineral character found across many Sicilian wines.
