Tasting Notes

A fine example of Sicily winemaking, this Sicilia DOC reflects generations of local expertise. At 14% alcohol, it delivers real concentration and power on the palate. Crafted from Merlot 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. It displays rich color intensity with complex aromas and a persistent finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in hilly soils rich in clay and limestone between 200 and 600 metres above sea level, in Contessa Entellina Estate. Vinification: fermentation in steel tanks with maceration on the skins for 11-13 days. The wine is aged 12 months in barriques and in second-passage tonneaux. At least 24 months in bottle. A wine reflecting the mineral intensity of Sicily's volcanic soils.
