A fine example of Sicily winemaking, this Etna DOC reflects generations of local expertise. At 14% alcohol, it delivers real concentration and power on the palate. Crafted from Nerello Mascalese 80%, Nerello Cappuccio 20%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. The palate shows depth and structure, with a finish that lingers pleasantly. The fruit is sourced from vineyards on the north side of Etna at an altitude between 450-900 meters from 10-60 years old vines. Vinification: separated for the varieties. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature with maceration on the skins for 15 days. The wine is aged 80% for 13 months in steel tanks, 20% for 10 months in barrique. A wine showing the island's unique volcanic terroir and Mediterranean influence.
Volcanic soils around Mount Etna impart a distinctive mineral character found across many Sicilian wines.
