This Etna DOC captures the distinctive personality of Sicily terroir. Its 13.5% alcohol content supports a rounded, well-integrated style. Crafted from Nerello Mascalese 90%, Nerello Cappuccio 10%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. It displays rich color intensity with complex aromas and a persistent finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards old vines, 85 years old, trained in the Etnean sapling system, at an altitude of 500 meters on soils composed of volcanic sands and ash. Vinification: fermentation in small tanks without temperature control and 12-day maceration with daily punching-down - after racking, malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wine is aged 12 months in French oak tonneaux and another 12 months in bottle. A wine capturing Sicily's sun-soaked character and ancient viticultural roots.
Volcanic soils around Mount Etna impart a distinctive mineral character found across many Sicilian wines.
