This Etna DOC captures the distinctive personality of Sicily terroir. With 14% alcohol content, it offers a full-bodied and robust structure. Crafted from Nerello Mascalese 90%, Nerello Cappuccio 10% , this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards vigna Vico in Contrada Santo Spirito in Passopisciaro, with 120-years-old ungrafted sapling vines at 700 m above sea level. Vinification: destemming, pressing, alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks for 15 days and malolactic fermentation in tonneau. The wine is aged 14 months in 700-litres oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle. A wine showing the island's unique volcanic terroir and Mediterranean influence.
Volcanic soils around Mount Etna impart a distinctive mineral character found across many Sicilian wines.
