This Montefalco DOC captures the distinctive personality of Umbria terroir. With 16% alcohol content, it offers a full-bodied and robust structure. Crafted from Sangiovese 60%, Barbera 25%, Sagrantino 15%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards cultivated according to the Guyot system in a sandy clayey soil, faced to South-East and located at 420 metres above sea level. Vinification: fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel vats with maceration for over 1 months. The wine is aged 18 months in big oak barrels and in barrique, at least 12 in bottle. A wine true to Umbria's centuries-old winemaking heritage.
Umbria is home to Sagrantino di Montefalco, one of Italy's most tannic and age-worthy reds.
