Produced in Sicily, this wine reflects a genuine sense of place. With 13.5% alcohol, it strikes a confident balance between body and freshness. Crafted from Carricante 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. It presents bright acidity with fresh mineral notes and excellent varietal expression. The fruit is sourced from vineyards from a single vineyard on the eastern slope of Etna, near to Milo, with pre-phylloxera 120-years-old vines rooted in a volcanic stony and sandy soil at over 800 m above sea level. Vinification: fermentation in a single 20 hl oak barrels with maceration on the skins for 10 months. The wine is aged 10 months in the fermentation barrels, some months in steel tanks and at least 12 in bottle. A wine reflecting the mineral intensity of Sicily's volcanic soils.
Volcanic soils around Mount Etna impart a distinctive mineral character found across many Sicilian wines.
