A fine example of Friuli Venezia Giulia winemaking, this Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC reflects generations of local expertise. Its 15.5% alcohol content underpins a rich, muscular structure. Crafted from Schioppettino 100%, this wine expresses the unique terroir characteristics. Expect layered dark fruit aromas, firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in Cividale del Friuli, facing South-East, at an altitude of 140 m. above sea level, on clay soil. Vinification: fermentation in wooden vats with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged 12 months in French barriques, 36 months in Slavonian barrels, other 12 in wooden barrels and at least 12 in bottle. A wine showing the influence of the region's cool alpine breezes.
Cool alpine breezes and diverse soils give Friuli's wines their trademark aromatic precision.
